Dear Doris
This has been a hot week for us up to Friday night when showers went both sides of us and the wind got into the NE and cooled us off, but never left a drop for us. every thing is dried up even berries they say are drying. its mean that we cant have rain. but Pa thinks it looks showery and so we are in hopes that before night. we stand a slight chance of getting some but I have lost all hopes, as so many have gone around us. Mr Blake came in to see us Thursday night on his way home from having his cows treated over to Winnies, and said that his folks had gone into Boston to see Kinsley Southworth off, and asked me down there to see the ones that were still there, but I am undecided about it as yet, I dont like to meet strangers
