Stoughton July 6th 1924

Dear Doris
As I am waiting for dinner to heat up and Pa has begun his letter I will start mine also. We had a great time the fourth as you will see by the papers, Stoughton did herself proud the parad was a mile long I was down early and stood on the corner of Capen and Walnut Sts and saw the whole thing and then came home to get dinner. there was a big crowd on the muster grounds. but I didn't go, too far to walk. they had a good cool day and the sun shone all day long. I went down to the Blakes twice that day. Mrs B ate some canned salmon a week ago and was sick from it. She is dizzy and would like to know what causes it, to bad she is so poorly. He is trying to put the house in order before Kins folks get there, coming this week The Edwin Jones house does not seem to sell they have put the price down to $8000 now Lottie Cranes family are all down to Buzzards bay for three weeks and are in hopes to sell the place meanwhile. but when you are anxious to sell people are not wanting to buy but I hope they will get a customer. Pa says it ought to bring $4000 times are dull though now. I finished the sweater this morning and will send it along tomorro with the dress. Well now my dinner is warm and Pa is sound asleep so let him sleep he has worked early and late this week he has a pretty good time the fourth riding around in the parade and then in the afternoon to the muster and the coon getting second money. a gala day you bet.
