McKennard Private Secretary Head Qrs. 4th Dist Holly Springs, Nov. 26th 1867 These papers relate to the application of the friends of Charles Wilson - a convict by the State Court - for his release from the Penitentiary to which he was sentenced for horse stealing. Judge Mc Nair of the 2nd Judicial Circuit to whom the papers were referred by Gov. Humphreys states that while he is unable after such a lapse of time - the case having been tried about a year since - to give a version of the evidence [[?]]
