Edward Nicholson sworn
Says that he believes from information received and all other circumstances that he Charles Wilson did steal the mule in question. Wilson did work at my place last week left last Saturday morning and promised to come back again on Monday was seen in company with Brook. Williams and others during the time that the mule was stolen from him. I seen the my mule last tuesday the 28inst at 2 Oclock missed the mule at at our home by sun did not then think the mule was stolen thinking that had gone back one mile from my place to the man from whom I bought that mule. Wilson came back to my house tuesday night 28 August 1866, look very much confused. My farm is in the State of Mississippi and in Pike County about 3 1/2 mile from Magnolia
