M Dickenson M.D. a regular practicing physician in the City of Columbia State of Miss. have this day carefully examined a freedwoman, named Maria, confined for safe keeping in the County jail, who is said to have been brought here from Okolona but who in being questioned does not seem to know the place of her nativity, nor former residence, neither can she tell her name but appears to be perfectly imbecile in mind, and deprived of reason and a fit subject for treatment in the Asylum for the insane,- C.M.
