I was informed by numerous persons, that there has been a marked improvement in the condition of the freedmen of that vicinity, since the opening of an office at that point.
The white citizens of the place, generally, appear disposed to encourage and assist as far as possible in the improvement & welfare of the negro.
There appears to be a greater amount of real destitution in the immediate vicinity of Corinth, than at any point in the State which I have
