I sent communication to you immediately to inform you of the difficulties surrounding me, and a change in the orders, and that I would await your further orders at Sardis where I was compelled to go for food & shelter, I supposed that I should receive a reply in a very few days, but, I have not up to this date received any and your Letter of the 24th inst. gives me the first intimation that you had in all probability not recieved my Letter. Will you be so kind Major as to Telegraph me as soon as you receive this whether I will be permitted to remain here. Como Station, six miles mostly of here is the centre of the Sub. Dist. but it is merely a little way station & no accommodation. Excuse my troubling you so much of if you please and believe me yours truly
