[[heading]] Negative Tax Plan To Get More Money [[/heading]]

WASHINGTON (UPI) - The Nixon administration is expected to approve soon the continuation of a three-year, $4.5 million experiment in negative income taxes for the poor.
The announcement, which may come today, will assure funds for a second year of the "graduated work incentive" project in three New Jersey cities.
It is not the first such action by the new administration, but it underscored Nixon's determination to test thoroughly alternatives to the costly and controversial public welfare system.

[[bold]] Nails Down Mission [[/bold]]
It will also help nail down the mission given the Office of Economic Opportunity by Nixon in his poverty message Feb. 9. Nixon said OEO would serve as the "incubator" of new programs to aid the poor.
By continuing the New Jersey urban experiment- and in approving a $510,000 income maintenance research grant for two rural areas earlier this month- the administration gave Robert H. Finch, secretary of Health, Education and Welfare a start toward his goal of $10 million worth of guaranteed income experiments in the next year.

[[bold]] North Dickinson Notes [[/bold]]

The students of the North Dickinson Elementary School held their last assembly on Monday morning when the pupils from the third grade presented a flute program to their invited parents and the student body.
The third graders have been receiving flute instruction all year and Miss Mae Spang, their music teacher took this opportunity to enable them to present a program of songs to demonstrate their ability in playing the instrument.
The children played nineteen songs that they has chosen for the assembled group and were accompanied by Miss Spang at the piano, with Mrs. Eloise Smith, their teacher also accompanying them on a number that she had taught them.
Following the third graders performance, everyone participated in singing familiar songs viewed on the over-head projector. All parents attending agreed that it was a most enjoyable program.
