RIDGEWOOD - Bill Howard scored rom frist base on Don Durheimer's single in the eighth inning yesterday to give Ridgewood a 1-0 Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League victory over Hackensack. Howard, who has singled, sped around the bases on a hit-and-run play, Comet center fielder Guy Visconti delaying before making a weak throw home.
 The run made Dan Side the pitching winner over Rich Toscano. Edie spun a two-hitter to earn his third victory in four decisions as the Maroons balanced its NNJIL record at 6-6. Toscano was the loser for the fifth time, the Comets losing for the ninth time in 12 league games.
 Toscano had worked out of a seventh-inning jam by getting John Loewenstein to ground out with the bases loaded. Durheimer and Tom Reid delivered hits in the seventh.

WAYNE - Wayne Valley moved closer to the top of the NNJIL yesterday by virtue of a 5-4 win over Teaneck. The Indians upped their league record to 9-3, only percentage points behind league leading Passaic Valley, which is 8-2.
 The Indians battled from behind as they overcame a 3-0 Teaneck lead.
 Wayne scored two in the third and two in the fourth to take the lead at 4-3. Bill Hannenberg singled in the third, driving in his 20th run of the year. The Indians took the lead in the fourth when Gene Cheval tripled and when Gene Cheval tripled and scored on Ray LeConte's triple LeConte tallied on a sacrifice fly.
 Teaneck tied the score once again however when Kilmurray homered with nobody on in the fifth. Wayne Valley scored what was to prove to be the winning run in the bottom of the fifth Hannenberg walked, stood second and scored on Keith Thompson's single.

[[Headline-Bold]] Adschiew's Late Homer Earns Rockers 4-3 Win [[/Headline-Bold]]
GLEN ROCK - Bob Adschiew went from goat to hero with one swing of the bat yesterday when he hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to lift Glen Rock to a 4-3 win over Ramapo.
 The victory gives the Panthers, now 7-2, in the Eastern Division of the Northern Bergen Interscholastic League, a full-game lead over second-place Old Tappan. Ramapo is 2-7 in the division.
 Adschiew, the Glen Rock third baseman, committed an error in the fifth and another in the seventh, with each miscue allowing a Green Raider run to score. Ramapo held a 3-1 advantage entering the bottom of the seventh and appeared home [[cut-off]]
[[Bottom Right Column]] Jim Hudson then beat out a bunt down the third-base line, scoring Ligeikis. Hudson scored on Wally Koth's three-bagger and Both came in when the relay to plate went astray.
 Gary Boyajian fanned 10 and walked two in gaining his third win against two losses. He was relieved by Joe Gillis with the bases loaded and two out in the seventh, and, after walking in one run, Gillis got Mike Kleinhenz on a grounder to third to end the game.
