"About the Movie"
1. Life Story Sold:
During the depression, when Dad was hard up, no longer in athletics, he sold his lifes story for less than 3,000.00. The author, years later, in turn sold the rights to the Warner Brothers Motion Picture Studio. Neither he nor his heirs have received royalties from this movie. Dad was paid as a technical director, $450,00 per week, for several weeks during the actual filming [[strikethrough]]of[[/strikethrough]].

2. Warner Brothers contacted Mother
Mother could easily have made some money on this movie, since they needed to use her name for the romantic interest in the story However, she had since remarried and would not permit them to use her first name Iva, known to Carlisle students as Ivy, but she did not consent to let them use her middle name and last name. Margaret Miller. She also stipulated, absolutely, no publicity, she did not eant to embarrass my step father.

3. Descrepancies:
The movie is generally true, they just played with the facts a bit. For example they show my brother Jim Jr. dying at about 8, he was actually 4. They completed omitted all of my brothers and sisters, inclufing myself anf this is why.. No one can use your personal name while you are alive without getting a clearance from you. Since [[strikethrough]] [[illegible]] [[/strikethrough]] we were not essential to the stiry, it made it simpler for Waaners to use only Juniors name who was dead and could not sue.
[[strikethrough]] Mother not Indian The movies shows [[/strikethrough]] mother telling Dad that she was not Indian before their marriage. Actually, she did not learn until they had been married for 4 or 5 years that she did not have any Indian blood. Mother is 75 today, in good health, she lives in Southern California and she is most anxious to hear all about this event.
