Dear Doris,

Well we got the rain & not the snow thistime [[this time]]. Yesterday it poured pretty much all day long. It grew cold last night & cleared off during the night, sometime, & early this morning it was around 10 or 12 above & still cold, but sunshine will off set it, so I guess we can keep from freezing. It does seem good to have bare ground, so I can step out side with out fear of slipping. I went down Friday afternoon to see poor Mrs Dykeman, she is still in bed, & that night she had the Dr in the middle of the night, she had a bad spell, they call it high blood pressure, she is on a diet, they said she had wanted to see me for a long time.
