Dear Doris
We are having it a little cooler. yesterday was an ideal washing day & I took advantage of the same by washing everything heavy & the wind did the rest. So when it came night, I was ready to haul up.

Pa was in Boston all day with the rest of the gang. assessors meeting, & did not show up till seven o'clock. he is going in today also. so I will be my own bos again today I expect to go down to the store later on, after a number of groceries that I need, about noon, when it will be warmer Pa has lugged up his things to George Monks, Jacks & Rachies this morning before he started & then came home & got ready & has just started downtown to join Fred Clapp. & they will all go in the car together probably. I have stayed at home a week there is not many places to go to, no one cares to come to my house & for that reason I am sensitive about going to see them. Sids mother says come every week, guess she is lonesome poor thing. its hard for both. I mean always to stay in my own home its better all around. Alice has changed a lot since Charles died, going around has done it. I think she throughly enjoys going to different places & says she does not dread it
