are 409 families KK on Madura which make batik tulis, largest number located in Kec. Tanjiung Bumi, Kab. Bangkalam (302 KK)
work generally done by women and children from sailing and farm families
is a sambilan and traditional activity with very low returns
a lunch earns 25 Rp a day and a family assisted by 4 or 5 lunch clears only 100-250 Rp a day ((incredible!!))
mori (white cloth used for batife) is bought for cash or on credit from mori traders (pemilik mori) at Rp 300 per lemban (length)
