Dear Doris

A fine day with considerable air this morning stirring but probably grow hot at noon as usual. I have given the flower beds a pretty good wetting down. I find that the poinsetter root you sent up, is alive, it has one start clear down to the bottom its in a flower pot under a bush when I keep the cactus, & in the fall, if it lives, shall take it in the house. Our summer squashes have just come up, since the rainy weather. this last week native strawberries have just come into the market. The roses are all most gone by. our Jack bush look fine this year they dont last long the white + seveen sisters are still in bloom. ramblers are coming along Oriental poppies are out, also the little French poppies are looking fine I have got them all around the house, as they bear transplanting We never had so many blossoms on the westeria as there are this year, over twenty. everything doing fine. I shall be glad when they start.
