but the grass is begging to start on the front lawn and looks quite green. all ready I see [[Krokus?]]. this morning he was asking me had I a days [[day's]] work or so for him  this spring I think I may use him when the time comes to spade some of the garden. but this is a long way off as yet. I think your Ma has given you nearly all the news for this week. that I can think of.

I looked up first flowers of spring, and crocus was the only one that seems close. This is April 6th, and in the Northeast of the US, and they are one of the first.
