Dear Doris

It is a pleasant day but a trifle cooler since it cleared off. the rain of yesterday lasted untill [[until]] afternoon.

Pa was wild as a hawk over the clock business every little thing excites him now. I would find him brooding over his bug bears all the afternoon, but not saying anything.

The gloom was something fierce, I was glad my work helped to occupy my mind in a way. he woke up at two & there was no sleep afterwards.

I dont sleep daytimes any now he is scart to stay alone so comes up stairs after I begin to feel sleepy & thats the end of my rest. well theres no need to complain I sleep pretty well by going to bed early & some times he sleeps better than other times.

There is not much to write about I have not seen any body for the last three days & dont go down town once in a great many days. he dont want me to leave him I gave him a big dose of Petrolargon oil last night and afterwards he came into the sitting room where I
