Stoughton January 6th 1932

Dear Doris

It is stormy & warm Pa's last day on earth & start [[scared]] to death after a good nights sleep. The snow is still on the ground it has been too cold to melt, warmer to day so I guess the rain will melt the snow & ice before night. I hope you got my letter at last the postman was late in coming.

I asked Alice how her mother was & she said she came down to dinner on her birth day the 19th but they are up nights with her some Myrtie has got over her cold so she stays with her now she may last some time they always make out their one folks sicker than they really are. Perhaps she will get up again but her age is against her. their is not much for me to write about. I am waiting for Maude to bring up those old grey pants so that I can finish up the rug. I think she likes it & it seems most large enough. Pa hates to see anything boil on the stove he has to be watched as he moves everything back. He fusses if he has anything pass him & fusses if he don't. Last night he would
