Dear Doris,

I have got to write this letter when Pa is not around he grows more suspicious every day. there is absolutely nothing that goes on around him thats right. The man thats putting on the outside windows did not do anything right, he thought, but he did just what he told him, he was splendid & did not mind Pa what he said, I am thankful the job is most all done. your pattern & goods are here they came Monday. is this pattern of the dress big enough or shall I make it for her to grow in.
