Dear Doris

Your Letter with Lena's came to day. I have been lazy. towrd [[toward]] the middle of the afternooon Talbot came to see Pa, he told him
the same as George Whiting did, he thought he was looking much better. he certainly is quieter & not crazy as he was a month ago. & he certainly eats & sleeps more natural

It has been clouding up most all day. & the predictions are snow & rain to night the chill is in the air.

I must go down to the corner store after some oats before night while the roads are bare. the
weather keeps one guessing. I expect to wake up and find

PS  Every thing iced up this morning. rain freezes as it comes. a dull day & raining hard.

which sort of pleases him. its a different kind from Pa's. I think on the whole your Father seems more like himself for the last few weeks. not so crazy. how long it will last is another problem. I have just been after my rolled oats & a loaf of bread. as I thought I might not want to venture out tomorrow if the going was bad. Pa was up stairs on the bed resting after Talbots visit & he did not know I went so its better not to excite him towards night he is tired as usual. he had a good nap after dinner & eats his spinnage.
