Stoughton March 3rd 1932

Dear Doris
We had a very nice sunny warm day yesterday the first one so warm for over a week it did seem nice to see the sun once more.
It certainly looked like the first beginning of spring in spite of a cold North wind so I emptied my ashes & went around the yard to see if the bulbs had started I found snow drops just showing white buds coming up out of the ground, two yellow crocus buds & some of the bulbs under the front windows started. our two last cold months have made the bulbs backward about coming ahead. 
Myrtie came up this afternoon she says they keep the house down to Alices so hot, seems as if she should die. her mother is praying to die. I suppose she feels that she is a burden on their hands poor thing.
I was very glad to hear that your check arrived safe. I had felt uneasy over it as I thought you would get it probably Saturday. Mrs Foss has got the gaul if she tries to call on your folks. I wouldnt wonder if the stepsons family have
