Dear Doris

It has been hot sun but a west wind all day everything is very quiet. I have just been out in the pasture & got enough berries for a pie. I made one today also a custard Pa does not care for berries, he eats freakily now he does just as he has a mind to. he wont take his fig laxative & so he suffers the consequences. I made a spider cake for supper & put a handful of bran in it.

I was working in the kitchen this morning & Myrtle came hollering in on her way to Fusehers Alice sent me up some clam chowder so she was bringing it up. I don't want to see anymore
