of the church for religios purposes. There is no pecuniary consideration named in the deed, but it is given as a charitable donation & whenever it shall cease to be used for Religious purposes, it reverts back to the former owner. I was told by Ragsdole & Judge Leachman, that a supplementary deed had been made, allowing the Lot to be used for Educational, as well as Religious purposes, but that deed was Laid to be in the hands of Major Norton, & I did not see it. There has been no public meeting called for the election of school Trustees, & the organization for educational purposes.
The Church we have occupied for a school Room the past two years belongs to the U.G. colored church,& is a larger & better building than the new house. 
That church has never assumed the right to controul [[control?]] the school or any thing to do with it. Further than to send their children in common with others. The objection to that house is, that it is all in one room, & where two classes are reciting at the same time it makes confusion. It was intended to recitation rooms partitioned off in one end of the new house. so as to obviate this difficulty; but that would spoil it for a meeting house. The room ought to be fitted up
