as he believes, in gold coins, to fully discharge the claims of the laborers upon the same. And further that he holds himself in readiness[[?]] to deposit said gold coins, or to give bond, with good and sufficient securities, to pay in full all the just demands of said laborers, to such persons as may be required, by the proper authority. That he has no purpose to cheat, wrong or defraud said laborers of their money. 

And further - that there is an attachment against said cotton, iposed by the civil authority, at the instance of L. M Baldwin, the owner of the land upon which the same was raised and that he has no intention of defrauding Mr Baldwin of his rent
