Capt OD Greene A.A.G

Dr Sir,
We have a rumor current in this neighborhood that Gov Brownlow of Tenn has notified Maj Gen Ord that Planters upon application through the Gen can get as many laborers to pick cotton as they may need & that Gov Brownlow will deliver them at the nearest RR station or St Bt Landing free of cost to the Planter — Please let me know if there is any truth in the rumor as I wish to get a few hands to pick cotton on my plantation in the Yazoo Bottoms, about twenty miles above Yazoo City. I can give good references -

Very Respty
