Capt:
We are informed by an officer in Memphis Tenn. that the Com B.R.F.& A.L. at that point has returned the vouchers, of John Wesley (the bearer), calling for his family, to Washington with a report that he resides here and desires his money sent to this place.
As you have already applied to Genl Howard for his money we presume another application will be unnecessary.
There are a number of parties, whose families have been collected, who reside some distance in this country as we are advised by a fellow laborer in same plantation. If we furnish you with their names could you not make application for the money for them without necessitating them the expense of a journey to the city until their money has been received here.
