Clem Morgan lives in Choctow County 10 miles above Vaiden but happened to be passing the vicinity of the place where the people were murdered. He made the statement before a J.P. but has not yet seen the Aiken's or Connor. It is believed that if they were brought face to face he could recognize them. Justice Gordon before whom the investigation was had is uncle of Isaac, Robert & Wm Aiken, the suspected parties. Connor lives in the vicinity. John Bell a watchman of Vaiden sold on the day of the murder some ammunition to the Eakens which corresponds by weight &c &c with the shots that killed the freedpeople.
