This agreement made and entered into between Richard. Freedmen of the first part and Robert Re. Richardson of the second part. Witnesseth, that Richard of the first part, do agree to do up all the blacksmithing on the Good Intent plantation necessary, in good workmanlike manner and to observe all necessary rules for good order and government according to rules by the other freedmen on the Good Intent plantation for my self and family. Said Rules having been fully explained, and read to my satisfaction. I Robert R Richardson of the second part do agree for the services above written by Richard to give him a quiet home for himself and family, with the privileges of water wood and permission for his hogs run in my pasture, free of all charge, and to protect him in his liberty and rights as far as I can from all reasons, and furnish him also in considerations his own personal rations of meal and meat.
