9th eve. the masks sit in circle around the center of room where their [[?]] + sing songs. The females sit in rear. Now enter two men with fine new masks + clothes only one man wear a full suit of woman's clothes. The entire night this pair dance [[?]] go out, [[?]] + come in + dance a new dance of another kind while the singers sing steadily on the entire night with short [[?]]. 10th day in morning the cover is taken off the skylight and a crowd of masked faces peer in + cry "where is our ax- woe have lost our ax- Here is a hole perhaps it has fallen in here"- The man mask who has danced all night comes in meanwhile and has in hand a native [[?]] like their old stone axes in [[?]]- with this he hammers on the floor at which the masks cry out= "there it is- there is our ax- throw it back to us" They then throw down a deer-skin and say "This is to pay, now throw it back"
