L in behalf of Charles Brown (Colored) of Holmes County Mississippi who with herself as Security is being prosecuted by Mrs Thurmond, and a Mr Williams for damages, because of his (Browns) leaving the employ of Mrs. Thurmond, before the Time Contracted for expired. Comr. for Miss. with the following information, that the within case will be tried at the next term of the County Court, at Lexington, Holmes Co. Miss. sometime in May, next. The incident is a copy of a letter relative to the case, forwarded by me, to the Sheriff, promptly, but, no proper notice was taken of it. - The Sheriff, verbally, informed me of the above - Jno Williams Agent, &c. One Enclosure.
