The Asst Commissioner decides that the appropriation allowed for Mississippi is too small to justify compliance with your request

You will forward an official copy of the Deed of the land on which the school House is to be erected (Thro Office Sub Asst Commr Sub Dist of Natchez) when ($100.00) one Hundred Dollars or as much in excess of same as may be deemed consistent will be treated by the Bureau towards completing the Building

Clark, Pastor, Methodist Church Natchez Miss, whose attention is invited to the contents of this letter, who will please furnish (through this office) a certified Copy of the Deed of the Land upon which the School House is to be erected, when a donation of one Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or as much in excess of the same as may be considered consistent for the completion of the building, will be made by the Bureau

Respectfully returned, with the information that the Trustees of the African Methodist Episcopal Church at Natchez purchased of the Trustees of the first Presbyterian Church of same place, a certain lot of ground and appurtenances upon which is situated a brick church, for which they have to pay the Sum of ($7,400) Seven thousand four hundred Dollars, that $1,000 one thousand Dollars has already been paid and the balance is to be paid in six annual installments, the first of which is due January 1st 1869, and for
