Mr. Jamis & Benedict has begun the study of the collection of Brachyura from the North Pacific Ocean, one of the most interesting groups in the department, and one that has never received much attention from the naturalists of any country.  The specimens of the same group recently collected by the Albatross in that region will also be placed at his service by the Commission of Fisheries.
