Ninety jars and bottles of Hexactinellid sponges collected by the Fish Commission from 1887 to 1890 were sent to Prof. F.E. Schulze, Berlin, for identification.

To Dr. Howard E. Ames, Museum of Hygiene, Washington, D.C., were presented ten specimens of edible crustaceane which he had prepared and mounted under the direction of Mr. Benedict.
