the wall cases in the West Hall were removed and the specimens were found to have suffered in spite of the protection which it was supposed had been given them. The rain came into the cases, and many of the sponges and soft corals were covered with mould, and in specimens of corals were covered with mould, and in specimens of coral that had been mended, the glue had softened, allowing the pieces to separate and fall, thereby doing much damage. All the cases stored in the Fish Hall were moved to the West Hall.
