Dear Doris

This is our first warm sunny day. I have just finished my front room & got my curtains up now. I feel clean. Talbot has just been to call on Pa but he did not stay long. he saw that he did not enjoy seeing him & guess he will not come again it may be just as well. he don't enjoy seeing any one & is up stairs all the time. just comes down to eat his meals he seems quiet don't talk much. I run in to see Mary Ansel last night when I went down to frost my letter. she is bent up worse than ever & terribly shakey. his nerves are very bad she goes to bed & stays there just as long as her nerves will allow & has to get up then its a terrible state to be in. Bertie is there with them I guess he does the work he is out of a job & his father is so lame he cant do any thing. Ruby has been cut in her wages but I don't know how much they are hit pretty hard. their Doctors bill must be enormous. but what good does it do. Mary is beyond help she takes four kinds of medicine. I don't know how people keep up their courage. Maimie Wales was just as cheerful yesterday as she ever was for all I could see & said she was not ready to die yet
