Stoughton March 17th 1933

Dear Doris.

This is a nice day warmer than we have had lately I have just got home from down town called to Alices [[Alice's]] & got some books saw Mrs. Packard she & Alice were very pleasant the house was trimmed up with colored papers. she was going to have the 4H club there to night they have a lunch. bring sandwiches & she furnished hot coffee & cocoa & waffles. she was anticipating a good time generally & Mrs P was looking forward to it, they were both jolly. I like to get into such an atmosphere it cheers me up. I paid my electric light bill & the telephone got some more envelopes & bias fold & butter & a few other things & came home tired. but there was simply nothing much to be done but to warm up the chowder for dinner. so that now I am good & rested up & ready for my nap, Harris has not come yet. Pa is reading his paper & patiently waiting. If these days continue the birds will soon find their way up north 7 the frogs will grease up there whistles & peep at the end of the month.

I hope you can take your Florida trip uninterrupted, you surely are in need of a vacation both of you. its soon coming on hot weather pretty quick now. March the biggest half is
