Stoughton March 9th 1933

Dear Doris

The storm has cleared + now it flows, but the wind is South East. I shall be glad it if ever stops blowing. the sun shines out fitfully. Pa is uneasy when the wind is blowing. but as long as it does not snow any more I wont complain. I finished tieing [[tying]] my quilt + cleared up the room. now after I bind it around the edges the thing will be done. its [[it's]] a good job finished. took the cotton from an old one. so now there are more bed clothes then you can wear out in a life time. I have made two every winter for the last ten years I should think. the little one is young to soon out grow her crib at the rate she is streaching [[stretching]] up now a days. I hope by then you will not be so far from the land of your birth no one knows what changes will take place in the few years that are coming. but I hope by then we see better prospects ahead of us. times are certainly discouraging now. it cant [[can't]] last forever let what comes. those are the lucky ones that have passed on to their final resting place. + don't have to worry over this depressed state of affairs. AS the day advances the sun shines brighter, but the wind is keeping up + I hope it will do down
