Dear Doris

We are having a cold blustering day with sun partially cloudy. it all goes to make up the winter weather. Pa has been anxiously waiting for Harris to come to shave him. he never has any set time it is just when its handy & convenient to him. I am sleepy & would like my afternoon nap. but have to wait around for him to appear.

It seems good to see the ground bare. I dont know where our ice is coming from this summer. they have not got any so far & guess the ice men are getting a little anxious. they may have to depend on artificial ice again. it is much cleaner.

I suppose Mort Lamb would like someone he knows to take an intrest in his paintings & so tell him as long as he is unable to be there to see for himself. Anna says theres no business ability to Mort. Talbot says that after we are dead & gone twenty years from now that picture may become famous. I wish it was a front view instead of a profile. but I think it shows an intelegant [[intelligent]] look much more capable of doing that great work.
