it has been so mild out side I have been out for more than an hour doing odd jobs. emtying [[emptying]] ashes & splitting up kindlings [[kindling]] & talking to Mrs. Ballentine in the in the back yard. its nice to see some one to talk to once in a while, one cant [[can't]] realize it untill [[until]] you are placed in the condition where everything is wrong & going to pieces any minute. in a way you can get used to it some, but there is nothing pleasant to desire from such an atmosphere.

I hope you are feeling more fit since you went back from your days vacation. you must try to guard against their unjust criticisms, so it wont affect your health.

We have just been to supper & Mrs. Ballentine has got a fire started in her backyard. I hope he dont [[don't]] notice it he is reading the paper. she does like a bon fire.
Mrs. Colcord did mention something about receiving a xmas present from you. she is hard to listen to her mouth is till & she does not move her lips atall [[at all]] so I have to guess at half she says. he is also hard to understand for he clips his words & speaks low. well guess this letter I will carry down now to the box. Here is the rest of Lenas [[Lena's]] letter.
