Stoughton January 13th 1933

Dear Doris

The wind blew up cold towards night & this morning was another of our cold mornings. this afternoon it is cloudy so we may have snow to top of with the air seems chilly like snow. I have managed to keep the house warm in spite of oppositions.

I have been cutting out patchwork since yesterday afternoon. so I may not do much but anything to keep busy on some light work. I went down town after supper last night with a letter I had written to Lena & wanted it to go out early. it had been returned for want of extra stamps. I loaded too heavy she had two Xmas cards that were mailed here, that I was foolish enough to send in it. well I must look out for it now in the future.
Maude called me up last night to ask if I knew whether you folks received the things she sent you Xmas as they had not heard from you folks since they were anxious for fear the box had not reach you. I told her I thought you had mentioned it in your letter. so when your letter came I called her up
