Office Sub-Asst. Com. Bureau of Refugees, &c., Friar's Point, Miss., July 26, 1867. Maj. W.A. Preston, Act. Asst. Adjt. Genl., Vicksburg, Miss. Major: I have the honor to inform you, that I have rented for an office, the dead-room in the Court House, mentioned in a previous communication. The county authorities have not fixed the rent, but it is not to exceed twenty dollars a month. Please inform me if I am authorized to purchase furniture and stationery for my office, and if so, to what articles I am confined.
