Stoughton June 22nd 1933

Dear Doris
The day began with a shower early most of it went over, but the down pour was left to us. so that was very satisfactory. it is showery still with but little sun. I am out in the garden between times transplanting my flowers as it is just the weather for such. I dont know what i should do if it was not for my plants as theres nothing else to fill up the time after my work is done. it has begun to be muggy since the rain.every thing is fresh since the hevy [[heavy]] down pour of the morning. the mother robin & her little brood are coming around for their daily rations & this noon a yellow cat was here eating the fish I had thrown out for the birds. so I will have to look out not to give them things to call the cats as I would hate to see them caught at this time of their existence. The babie is doing well at her little writing. she is making great improvement in so short a time. I heard a mosquito last night in my room, but they are scarce. I think covering up the cesspool has made some differences in their breeding. They prophesy a great apple crop this
