Evelyn said in need of some one to talk with & sympathize. they are all alone. I dont feel like passing the house without stopping if only for a few minutes. its a hot air & I am just making up a little brush fire just so to get something hot to drink. tea always seems so good to me such weather & it quenches thirst. Pa has even come down out of the hot chambers. he was roasted out upstairs. the Ballentines are going to Provincetown over the weekend so Addie informed me yesterday. I gave the old woman one of my books to read she asked me for something. I have got three & one has got to be returned by the fourteenth I have just read the Harvester a book that the minister Hughes gave to the library. it was very good. I have painted one screen door & going to paint the front one (double doors) if Louie does not appear to night to do it. I love to paint it just delights me to daub it on theres [[there's]] such a satisfaction to see the improvemen [[improvement]] it makes so this is all for to day. Ma.

P.S. a good shower has just gone around us which has given us a little rain & it bids fair to continue with more during the night. I have aired the little building which was hot as an oven. Pa is wandering around like an uneasy spirit. he is afraid of whats [[what's]] going to happen. its too dark to see the lines so will quit another shower coming up. Ma
