I told him to bring me some more apples & some potatoes if he has them a plenty. the sun is the only good thing about this day. a light covering of snow came Saturday night. is still on the ground. we had some hot lamb soup with peas put in it for dinner & a few onions which awaited my hungry appetite after I reached home this noon. she took the water she cooked the bones in after they [[?]] it up to cool it & then put in the vegetables after [[?]] off all the grease. try it sometime she put in a good 1/2 cup of rice as she dont care for barley. Miss O'Brine asked me to go up to Brocton with her this afternoon. she was going up a shopping. but I know she did not know how cold it was out. he said that he was going to Boston in the train. thats [[that's]] what I should [[?]] said I. its a mighty cold day for riding in the car thats [[that's]] unheated.
