a little meat for her Sunday dinner & it lasts us all during the week with variations. The poorest thing she makes us is a baked pudding thick with rice & a few raisins added. its stiff when done.  Pa & I dont care for it, but she thinks it a masterpiece do you wonder. After eating our raw rice pudding, we feel like turning our backs to the one she makes! She dont mistrust how it is as we eat hers & say nothing. Harold Smith was in the hospital this morning being treated. he is very deaf & almost blind. Miss O'Brine told me there was no help for him, he could not see me, but the Dr told me his hearing was bad also. I should think he would find it hard doing the work for Welch. too bad now in the prime of life. I had a good nights sleep & feel pretty good today. my good appetite is makeing my nerves stronger, but its now my foot & ankle. He says walk & forget I am so, but not overdue it. He tells me to tell James to drive me around anywhere to do my errands, so tomorrow I mean to pay my telepone & electric light bills if its any kind of weather. I have had him doing my errands all the week. He is a good natured boy & we like Beans the dog to go too. He takes a liking to me & follows me all around & even gets up on the bed when they will let him, he is a good watch dog.  Ma.  Its growing damp & its sure to snow soon
