will send it along for you to read. Lottie Crane called up to tell me the news Georgie Briggs died & her body was to brought here by Marion to be buried funeral at the undertakers rooms. I would like to go but its impossible to get there & back Alice is sick & not expected to live long. Marions husbands mother is very feeble, she is living with them, a sort of a hospital I should think, they had had there to Marions. It must have been pretty hard for her to take care of so many invalids so long. I told Lottie that to die was not the worst thing to happen to mortals, its having to be a burden to others & longing to go & living & suffering we cant go when we want to. Arthur is down now for his supper he takes comfort only when he is eating, but is very quiet. He comes down & you find him looking through a crack in the door. He does not talk much he seems to stand in awe of Mrs Osbourn but when she goes off he comes & is very natural, everything is going to pieces & its the last day. This is the first time I have ordered oil since you were here. I hope Bruce will pay on the old score his rent will pay her housekeeping bill. I guess she has hard work to meet her expenses. My coal is hanging out pretty well, the winter has begun early. I am going to pay my electric light & telephone & oil bills next. James will take me down so I can do them all at once. Ma.
