Dear Doris

We are still in the midst of pleasant sunny days & about the same temperature so I am sitting out doors & enjoying the fall benefit as long as it lasts. going down to the hospital daily.

Last night around 7 o'clock a bad accident occurred Ollie Howards wife got killed by Millard Lowes car as she was crossing the street, near Grove Street corner. they said she was crossing the street in front of his car & he was blinded by the lights of an approaching car & did not see her crossing in front of him; she never knew what struck her. her husband is going to miss her terribly I fear.

Jack Wayland they say has the nervous shake to his right arm & hand. like the shaking palsey, the Toomeys have it a nerve trouble.

Miss Ballentine came over yesterday to call she told us all the news & we took her up to see our bath room she was loud in her praise I have just called up Lindelof & he said he would come up & fix the flush it wastes too much water as it is & it spoils all the pleasure we take in using the thing
