Dear Doris 
Our rain is here at last it began yesterday & has everlastingly poured to day & done some good I had to go down in the hardest. he came clear up to our back door with the car so not to get us wet. Mrs Gilzer has just been here she came while Lena was asleep I guess & woke her up. Lena is working too hard & last night she was up with me rubbing my leg & bathing it in hot water & putting on the pad I slept after she fixed one up, but guess she didnt. The Ballentines got home last night about bed time the brother came with them he was working around all the fore noon mowing the lawn but it poured to hard for his working any after dinner. we have just had our supper Pa is awful hungry & it seems as if he would never get filled up. Lena keeps his food covered up so he dont dip into the main dishes. but she cant keep him out of the sugar bowl. he sleeps more & more daytimes & all night. he has taken to
