TO THE MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS OF THE FIFTH AVENUE ASSOCIATION, INC.:

Your cooperation is desired in connection with the program of Street Cleaning Commissioner Taylor for snow removal in the Fifth Avenue Section during the coming Winter.

Will you therefore be good enough to refer the enclosed printed regulations to the superintendent or janitor of your establishment, or whoever has jurisdiction over this matter, to be posted in a conspicuous place?

Your special attention is invited to Paragraph two, which, as Commissioner Taylor writes, “is the most important, and merchants can give great assistance to the Department by instructing their superintendents or janitors to carry out the provisions of this paragraph to the letter”.

It is further requested that all fire escapes, balconies, and window ledges on the front of buildings be cleaned of snow, and not allowed to melt and drip on the passers-by or upon those who may be entering your building or that of your neighbor.

Very truly yours
Thomas W. Hughes
