REQUEST TO DISPLAY FLAGS

NAVY DAY

OCTOBER 27, 1923.

The Navy League of the United States has informed us that Saturday, October 27th, will be celebrated as Navy Day. The project has the hearty cooperation of the Navy Department and the approval of the President of the United States. The purposes of Navy Day are to pay tribute to the past and present services of the Navy to the Nation, and to place before the people information concerning the state and needs of the Navy.

We have been invited to join with the Navy League and the other patriotic and civic organizations in making this day a success, and we therefore ask that you display the American flag on Saturday, October 27th.

   Appreciating your cooperation, I am

Very truly yours
Thomas W. Hughes

Thomas W. Hughes
