Messrs. J. Seligmann &Co.,
705-5th Avenue,
New York City.

Gentlemen:- RE: 69TH STREET & MADISON AVENUE

In accordance with your request, I quote you the following approximate costs for alteration at the above building as discussed last Friday.

(1)- New entrance to replace present entrance leaving the floor levels as at present and making the main entrance vestibule at the basement floor level so that you would walk down steps from the sidewalk level to the basement floor level...$5,500.

(2(-To remove 2 story bay window on 69th Street and form new show window as required...................... $4,000

(3)-To remove South bay on the Madison Ave. front and form new show window as required ............................... $12,000

(4)- To remove North bay on the Madison Ave. front and form new show window as required....................... $8.250

(5)- To cut off brown stone projection and chip brick work as required for new stucco, piece out present cornice lines where bays are removed etc. and stucco surfaces on 69th Street and Madison Ave. fronts as required..................... $14,000

(6)- A new elevator could be installed of about the size of your present elevator at 705-5th Avenue for approximately the sum of...........................................$11,000

(7)- An allowance of about $15,000 should be made for interior changes and this cost would change the roof as discussed the other day.

(8)-
The above cost does not contemplate any changes to the heating, plumbin or electric work, but I think the present work could remain as a whole with the exception of the electric work and this would probably have to be installed practically new to meet your special requirements. You would probably spend another $10,000 on the three above items.
